Massage Therapy in Chico

That Listens to You

Portrait of Elizabeth Ann, owner and practitioner of Elizabeth Ann Bodywork in Chico, Ca

Hi—I’m Elizabeth.

If you’re here because you’re living with pain, carrying stress or simply something in your body is asking for care…welcome. You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong to book with me. You just need to know that something feels off and that you are ready for a little extra support. Finding someone you trust to be on your team can make all the difference.

I’ve been offering massage and integrative bodywork in Chico Ca for the past 13 years in my peaceful office near Enloe Hospital. Over the years my massage practice has naturally evolved into one that serves women exclusively.

I have intentionally cultivated a quiet, safe and nurturing space just for you, where you can arrive exactly as you are and leave feeling lighter and calmer.

If that sounds like what you need right now, text or call me. I’ll (usually) get back to you same day.

My hope is that you leave feeling more connected to your body than when you arrived.

What My Clients Say

“Beth has been a tremendous help with an old back injury from a car accident. Whenever it flares up, her massage therapy relieves the pain and gets me feeling better.

I've referred three friends and a family member to Beth, and every one of them has been extremely happy with her care and skill. I highly recommend Beth to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and effective massage therapist.”

— M

“Because massage is such a personal experience it matters who your therapist is. That's why I'm on Beth's table every month for 90 minutes. It's why I book my appointments months in advance; it's the one thing on my calendar I never want to change and will work other things around. She tailors each massage to what is going on with my body that particular day. I truly feel like a new woman after each massage.”

— K

“After I injured my shoulder and collarbone, my acupuncturist referred me to Beth for additional treatment. Her therapeutic massages made an incredible difference. She helped heal my shoulder, and I now have full use of it again.”

What Guides My Work

Elizabeth Ann standing barefoot among redwood trees, reflecting on her approach to grounded, restorative bodywork.

We all end up in situations where a little support goes a long way but here’s the thing, you’re the expert on your own body. Not me. I don’t believe I have all the answers about your body-you do. My role is to create space, bring years of bodywork experience, and help you connect to what your body has been trying to tell you.

I’ve spent the last 13 years studying and practicing a variety of bodywork techniques including deep tissue and myofascial release.

Rather than following a routine or script I respond to what your body and nervous system are communicating in the moment. That’s why no two massage sessions are exactly alike. During our massage sessions, I tend not to talk much. My attention is on listening to you in a different way, through my hands.

Every woman who walks through my door brings a different story, a different body and different needs. There isn’t one approach that works for everyone-and I don’t believe there should be. I’ve worked on all kinds of women from athletes to doctors to grandmothers, from first timers, to clients I’ve seen every month for years. Every body’s different.

As a woman currently in midlife, I especially relate to the shifts I’ve personally navigated. Maybe your sleep or your energy is different or you have new areas of pain. Maybe your body is asking for something different than it used to. I get genuinely excited meeting women in that place—ready to slow down a little, pay closer attention, and start trusting what your body is telling you.

Wherever you’re coming from, I’m not a cure-all, and I won’t pretend to be. What I offer is consistency, attention, and a session built around whatever your body needs that day.
